La Purisima Mission Field Trip is Tomorrow!
Just in case you missed the email from Coach Robitaille, here it is:
Dear Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Parents:
Next Tuesday, April 25th, our third, fourth, and fifth grades will take a “field trip” to Crane School for a multi-school track meet. The students will participate in running, jumping, and throwing events with an exciting 4×100 relay to conclude the day’s event.
Students will ride the bus from Hope Ranch and Montecito to the event, which begins at 10:00 and ends at 2:15.
Students WILL NOT be transported back to school after the track meet. Please plan to pick up your child at Crane School (1719 San Leandro Lane) or make car pool arrangements. Pickup time is between 2:15 and 2:30.
Please have your child wear comfortable running shorts, athletic shoes, and a Laguna T-shirt (e.g., Jogathon, Field Day). If you do not have a Laguna shirt, please contact me and I’ll get one for you. Long hair should be tied back and out of the face.
Students will eat lunch at the event. So please send your child to school with a “brown bag lunch.”
Parents are welcome to attend and cheer on our students.

We have a field trip on Thursday, 3/9/17, to see the Dorrance Dance performance at the Granada. Please have your child wear their “best dress” uniform. We will be returning before lunch, so there is no need to cancel Locally Grown Kids.
Don’t forget to complete your top secret assignment and return it in your homework folder on Tuesday!
Wear something that makes you feel like it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow! Dress Down Day!
Thank you to those of you who have signed and returned your child’s math test. If your child hasn’t returned it yet, please send it in tomorrow. Thank you:)
Our explorer wax museum is on Friday, 12/9/16 from 11:10-12:15 under the pavilion. We are looking forward to seeing you there. Students are encouraged to dress up as their explorer for this event. Below is an excerpt from a parent letter that went home on November 4th. I am also including a link to a previous wax museum presentation to give you an idea of what it’s about.
“Students should dress and speak as they think their person might have. Your child does not need an elaborate costume, something as simple as a hat like their person wore would be great. They may also bring props to use during their speech.”
Each fourth grader needs to have five artifacts for his or her time capsule by Monday, 10/17/16. Please refer to my previous email for specifics. They will store their primary source artifacts and their questionnaires (which we have been working on in class) in manila envelopes that will be decorated on Friday. These special time capsules will be returned to them upon their 8th grade graduation.
Tomorrow we are having a Health and Wellness Fair. It is a dress down day. Each class has been assigned a color. Our class color is black. If your child has something black to wear, that would be great:)
