Mr. Mark Banda, a Newfoundland enthusiast, brought his beautiful Newfie, Bucyk, for us to enjoy. Mr. Banda demonstrated how these strong dogs have been used in the past and continue to be used for a variety of purposes, including rescuing people from capsized boats. This was a very special morning for us. We recently finished reading Seaman, the Dog Who Explored the West with Lewis and Clark. It was very exciting to see this dog up close and imagine how special Seaman was to his crew members in the Corps of Discovery.
