Book Graffiti

January20

Over the winter break, I was looking to expand our classroom library. I searched on Craigslist, and hit the jackpot. A bookstore in Van Nuys closed its doors, and the owner was selling the books out of an office building. I drove down and picked up 150 books to add to our classroom library! All of our books are loaded onto an app called Book Retriever so that the books can be checked out to take home or read in class. It has been so much fun to see the enthusiasm for reading growing in our classroom.

If you wander over to our newly expanded classroom library, you’ll find some graffiti worth reading! Students are writing down passages they enjoy from their readings. I love it!

If your child has books that he or she would like to donate to our library, we would love to give them a new home.
