Today, the fourth grade students took a field trip to the Watershed Resource Center. After exploring the estuary at Arroyo Burro Beach Park, students explored the Watershed Resource Center. While there, students experienced a simulation exercise in which they polluted the water with different types of pollution (toxic, physical, and nutrient pollution) to get a sense of how harmful these pollutants are to our fresh water sources. Finally, the students took a trip to a nearby creek to test the water for pH, oxygen, and phosphorus levels.
